Katy Perry's ex says he'll always be there for her

Brazil Sun (ANI) Sunday 5th February, 2012

Katy Perry's ex boyfriend Travie McCoy has been comforting and supporting the singer after her split from now estranged husband Russell Brand.

The 'Firework' hitmaker and British comedian Brand called time on their union in December after only 14 months of marriage and Perry's former love, Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy, says he has been trying to help the singer get over the break-up.

"There will always be a connection between us, I'll always be there for her," Contactmusic quoted McCoy as telling the Mirror.

"When you've been in a relationship like ours, you will always make time for that person.

"Katy was there for me through my hard times when things were really bad.

Even though they split long time back, he said that he did not have any hard feelings towards her.

"Life goes on, I have regrets about the way things ended but there are no grudges anymore.

"I'll always be there for her, she knows that," he said.

He also said that Perry and Brand were in love that they married so fast.

"Do I think she got married to Russell too fast?

When you're feeling it, you're feeling it.

"You can't help how you feel," he added.

Perry and McCoy started dating in 2008 after she appeared in the video for his band's song 'Cupid's Chokehold' but split in 2009. (ANI)
