Cape Town - It was far from clinical, but the Springboks secured a 24-18 win over Argentina at Loftus on Saturday in their final home Test before the 2019 World Cup.
It was a contest full of intent, but perhaps lacking an element of quality throughout.
The Springboks were far from their best, but wing S'bu Nkosi bagged a brace of tries that ultimately got his side over the line.
There was also a welcomed return to action for Siya Kolisi, who got through 52 minutes before being substituted in what was his first international appearance of the year since recovering from a knee injury.
An unconverted try from Pumas skipper Pablo Matera making it 18-18 going into the final 15 minutes as the Bok bench was tested, but a long range Elton Jantjies penalty gave the Boks the lead back shortly afterwards.
Argentina also had a late try disallowed for obstruction that would have won them the game.
