BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 12 (Xinhua) -- Paraguay international defender Robert Rojas has signed a 12-month contract extension with River Plate, the Argentine giants said on Friday.
Rojas, whose contract expired in December, was a key member of the River side that last month reached the semifinals of the latest edition of the Copa Libertadores.
"The defender has signed a contract extension until December 31 this year. Let's set the bar higher," River Plate said in a tweet.
The 24-year-old center-back has made 43 first-team appearances for River since joining the club from Guarani in 2019.
He has been capped five times for Paraguay, having made his international debut against Japan in September 2019.
